News from Tamworth Regional Council’s Youth Centre
Coming up: Wednesday 23rd December: BBQ at 1.30pm, doubles Table tennis Competition at 3pm – win a movie voucher and 3 on 3 Basketball Competition at 7pm – win a movie voucher.
Thursday 24th December: BBQ at 1.30pm and doubles Pool Competition at 2pm – win a movie voucher.
Please be aware that the Youth Centre will be closed Friday 25-12-09 to Monday 4-1-10 Inclusive.
Winners are grinners: Jarryd Knox beat Zak Skinner in the final of the pool competition on Saturday 19th December. Jarryd Knox continues to lead the 2009 Pool Championship with 145 points ahead of Googoorewan Knox with 32 points, and Shaquille Ervine with 16 points. Jarryd Knox beat Tyriil Knox in the final of the Table Tennis competition on Saturday 19th December. Jarryd Knox leads the Table Tennis Championship with 116 points ahead of David Ifield on 35 points and Shaquille Ervine in 3rd Place with 28 points.

Come along and get involved! Reality Art/Writing Competition:Oxfam Australia and Culturalista are putting on a new Express Your Reality Art/Writing Competition! 2 X $500 prizes are up for grabs, along with a bunch of other prizes. All entrants have the chance to be part of an exhibition at Oxfam's Refugee Realities simulation in Canberra 2010 and/or published in Culturalista magazine. Entrants can be any age and live (primarily) anywhere in Australia. Entries must express the reality of being a refugee, past, present or future. Entries can be in any visual or writing form, with a $500 prize for both sections. For example: paintings, photos, stories, poems, news, sculpture. etc. All entrants must be current or former refugees. Closing date for entries is February 28th, 2010.
